Turn your existing HotBlock into a stirring HotBlock to meet EPA Method 3060A
The StirBase magnetic stirrer can be used with most HotBlock and HotBlock Pro systems, or as a stand-alone stirrer with unlimited stirring positions. The detached controller allows for 100 different stirring speed settings with a maximum of 2150 rpm and has a 6-ft (1.8-m) cable for safe operation of the stirrer in a fume hood. The stirrer housing is corrosion-resistant PVC.
An extremely strong internal magnet allows you to place an entire HotBlock on the platform and provide stirring to each well.* Sixty 7/8" long x 1/2" diameter (23.1 x 11.5 mm) stir bars are included and fit in the 50- and 100-mL digestion cups, as well as many other laboratory vessels. Stir bars are PEEK encapsulated for superior chemical resistance and compatibility.
The StirBase stirrer cannot be used around aluminum or magnetic items as it will cause drag on the motor, and or the maximum stir speed cannot be achieved and the motor will overheat. Additionally, stir bars should be placed in the mixing vessel prior to being placed on the stirrer.
